Andrea Bocelli’s Friday evening performance at London’s O2 Arena turned into a heartwarming family celebration as the world-renowned tenor welcomed his son Matteo and daughter Virginia to join him onstage. Together, the trio performed several songs before an audience of thousands at the iconic venue on the Greenwich Peninsula in southeast London.

The appearance comes shortly after Bocelli announced his first-ever collaborative recording with 24-year-old Matteo and 10-year-old Virginia. Their upcoming Christmas album, A Family Christmas, is set for release on October 21 and marks a meaningful creative milestone for the celebrated musical family.

The performance at the O2 Arena was initially scheduled for October 2021, but Bocelli’s long-awaited return proved well worth the wait. The concert featured selections from his 2018 album Si — his first collection of entirely new material in 14 years — alongside beloved pieces spanning his remarkable catalogue of 15 studio albums.

Si was described as a reflection on “love, family, faith, and hope,” making the presence of his children onstage especially fitting. The album includes collaborations with high-profile artists such as Ed Sheeran, Tiziano Ferro, Dua Lipa, Josh Groban, and soprano Aida Garifullina, as well as a touching duet with Matteo.

Andrea Bocelli remains one of the most influential voices in classical music, reportedly the best-selling solo classical artist in history, with more than 85 million albums sold worldwide. His illustrious career includes performances for four U.S. presidents, two Popes, numerous royal families, and appearances at major global events such as the Olympic Games and the World Cup.

In recognition of his extraordinary contributions to the performing arts, Bocelli received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2010, honoring his achievements in live theatre and performance.
